Are our young people equipped with 21st-century workforce skills and ready to succeed?

It will take a coordinated effort — inside and outside the classroom — to be sure.

Bridging Richmond is an important partnership designed to ensure that all children and youth in the region have the support necessary to succeed academically. As each child graduates and enters the 21st-century workforce, we must do everything possible to ensure that our greater Richmond community will grow and thrive. The Executive Council has adopted the vision, Successful Students … Productive Citizens … Thriving Region.

As a member of the Education Partnership Implementation Network, Virginia Commonwealth University has the ongoing support of Living Cities, Strive of Cincinnati and the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities at the national level. Equally important, Bridging Richmond is representative of the sectors of the community which include higher education, early childhood, K-12, business, philanthropic, nonprofit and civic leaders.

Through this collaborative partnership, strategic priorities are the focus along with a sustained commitment to data informed action planning and investments in best practices.

Bridging Richmond gratefully welcomes individuals interest and involvement in improving the educational pipeline, supporting the children in the community, and ensuring they graduate from some form of postsecondary education and enter the workforce ready to contribute.
